Alison Herbert
Alison Herbert set up Alison Herbert & Co in July 1997 10 months after the birth of her twin boys. Alison’s aim was and still is to operate a personal injury and clinical negligence niche practice with fellow professionals and co-workers whom share Alison’s vision of excellence of delivery of service to clients.
Alison has over 20 years post qualification experience and is an accredited Member of the Specialist Personal Injury Panel. Alison is also a Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
Alison enjoys all the different areas of personal injury work but particularly enjoys taking on work which is difficult or complex and has been rejected by other Solicitors firms. Alison also specialises in clinical negligence work.
Alison when not at work adores being at home with her husband and twin boys. Alison loves gardening, baking and home making. Alison spends lots of her time cheering on her twin boys on the rugby field and cricket pitch. If Alison has any extra time she loves going to art galleries, the theatre and visiting foreign cities.

Gary joined Alison Herbert & Co as Partner in May 2000 fulfilling an ambition of establishing a Practice specialising in personal injury work. He was previously a Partner at Leeds based Solicitors Godloves, heading their personal injury department.
Gary has over 21 years post qualification experience and is a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is an accredited Member of the Law Society Specialist Personal Injury Panel. Gary is passionate about all types of personal injury work and has specialist skills in dealing with more complex and high value cases.
Gary lives in Knaresborough with his wife and two children. He is a keen athlete and is one of only a handful of runners to have competed in every Great North Run half marathon since it started in 1981. His ambition in 2009 is to run a full marathon. Gary also enjoys hill walking and playing 5-a-side football. When Gary isn’t doing sport he can be found cycling with his son or mucking out his daughter’s horse.

Helen joined Alison Herbert & Co in January 2007 having accrued over 24 years experience in the personal injury field at Leeds based Solicitors Nelson & Co (now Gordons).
Helen has a wealth of experience in dealing with all areas of personal injury work and recently obtained damages of £15 million on behalf a paraplegic client who was involved in a catastrophic road accident. Helen is a Member of the Association of Personal Lawyers (APIL).
Helen when not working hard for her clients enjoys spending time with her two sons at home and abroad. Helen also enjoys socialising with her friends.

Margaret Midgley
Margaret has 23 years experience working as a Legal Secretary. Margaret has worked with Alison Herbert for 17 years and helped set up Alison Herbert & Co 12 years ago in July 1997. Margaret deserves a gold medal!
Margaret is the font of all knowledge and is the hub of Alison Herbert & Co supervising secretarial staff, managing the IT systems and anything else that needs doing. Margaret enjoys sleeping, swimming and walking in the Dales.
Margaret has 23 years experience working as a Legal Secretary. Margaret has worked with Alison Herbert for 17 years and helped set up Alison Herbert & Co 12 years ago in July 1997. Margaret deserves a gold medal!

Susan Bailey
Sue joined Alison Herbert & Co in October 2000 bringing with her 36 years of secretarial experience. Alison Herbert & Co is Sue’s third employer in a 44 year secretarial career! Sue has enjoyed 30 years of active involvement in Starbeck Centenary Swimming Club including a 20 year stint as their Secretary.
Sue loves being at home with her husband, son and daughter and feels privileged to have to have been actively involved in bringing up her granddaughter.

Barbara Hughes
Barbara joined Alison Herbert & Co as a Receptionist/Secretary in March 2008. Barbara has over 25 years secretarial experience much of which was gained in the City of London working for Banks and Solicitors. Barbara and her husband moved to North Yorkshire in 2006 and love walking and cycling in the Dales.
Barbara enjoys reading, listening to music, going to the theatre and travelling. Barbara has aspirations to write an historical novel and is currently doing research before starting her book.
Barbara joined Alison Herbert & Co as a Receptionist/Secretary in March 2008. Claire Elliot
Claire is a part qualified Accountant with a Chartered Institute of Management Accounts (CIMA) Advanced Diploma. Claire joined Alison Herbert & Co as Accounts Manager in June 2008 having worked in accountancy in a variety of other business sectors for the last 15 years. Claire when not at work is kept very busy by her three year old daughter.
Claire also manages however to fit in regular running, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, foreign travel and gardening with her Mum.

Carol has over 25 years experience working as a PA/Secretary in both the legal and financial sectors. Carol recently joined Alison Herbert & Co as a Receptionist/Secretary in October 2008.
Carol’s passions are line dancing, gardening, walking in Wales and shopping. Carol is very proud of her son whom is at Oxford reading history and politics.
Carol has over 25 years experience working as a PA/Secretary in both the legal and financial sectors. Carol recently joined Alison Herbert & Co as a Receptionist/Secretary in October 2008.
